The PCP will provide care with strict adherence to: Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) core values, policies, and work standards; Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (SCoP) Paramedic Clinical Practice Protocols; The Paramedics Act and SCoP Regulatory and Administrative Bylaws; and The Saskatchewan Ambulance Act and Regulations. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement" Human Resources Exemption: No Education Primary Care Paramedic diploma (PCP) Licenses Registered Emergency Medical Technician/Primary Care Paramedic (EMT/PCP) International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS) Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR) Valid Class 4 driver's license Automated External Defibrillator Certificate (AED) Competencies Advanced - Interpersonal skills Advanced - Listening skills Intermediate - Conflict resolution skills Knowledge and Abilities Ability to work independently Physical ability to perform the duties of the position Decision making through the application of knowledge and critical thinking Ability to function effectively in high stress and in emergency situations Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team Knowledge of EMS Practitioners legislation/protocols/scope of practice Positive approach to deal with challenging situations with empathy and sincerity Decision making through the application of clinical, legal & ethical practice Demonstrates the ability to be resourceful and to adapt to changing conditions Familiar with the SK Ministry of Health Ambulance Information System.
