Overview:
The EMT provides high quality patient care and safe medical transport to sick and injured patients in all age groups, primarily in a non-emergent setting. Patient care will be consistent with approved treatment protocols. The EMT communicates and coordinates the patient’s care in an interdisciplinary model.

Qualifications:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. Successful completion of an approved EMT program, required.
• Experience:
• Minimum of one-year experience with a paid emergency services provider, preferred.
• Two years licensed driving experience, required.
• Licensure/Certification:
• Current EMT certification for the state out of which they are operating. SC credentialing required for SC based locations and NC credentialing required for NC based locations.
• BCLS, required.
• ACLS, PALS and ITLS or PHTLS, preferred.
• Additional Skills (required):
• Current and valid driver’s license required and must meet the requirements of the medical center’s insurance carrier.
• Must meet general hospital driving requirements.
• Annual EVO education is required to drive during emergency situations.
• Must be 19 years of age with zero points on driving record.
