Responsibilities
  • Provide safe and reliable transportation to patients for medical appointments and related services.
  • Assist patients in boarding and alighting from vehicles using wheelchairs, stretchers, and other specialized equipment.
  • Demonstrate compassion and ensure patient comfort while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Provide basic medical assistance and first aid as needed during transport.
  • Ensure all necessary medical equipment is onboard and functional, maintaining a wellstocked medical kit.
  • Perform pretrip inspections to ensure vehicles are clean, safe, and properly functioning.
  • Maintain accurate vehicle logs, documenting mileage, fuel usage, and other key data related to hours driven and passenger loads.
  • Coordinate transit schedules with dispatch and transport team members for efficient service.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure seamless transportation.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports detailing medical interventions, accidents, injuries, and other incidents.
  • Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations regarding patient transport, medical equipment, and privacy standards.
  • Follow established procedures in case of accidents, injuries, or unexpected medical emergencies.
  • Maintain uptodate EMT certification and participate in continuing education and training.
  • Attend regular training sessions, workshops, and staff meetings to stay current with industry knowledge.
  • Contribute to a positive work environment and culture of service excellence.
