Assignment Length: Ongoing coverage need Start Date: July 6 Openings: 1 Reason for Coverage: Long-term permanent search Practice Setting: 13-bed ED/UC Average 20 patients per shift Level III trauma center 73-bed facility Average 40-60 patients per 24/hours Tele-stroke and Tele-ICU services UW helicopter on-site Schedule: Average 8-12 shifts per month Shifts are 9:00a-9:00p or 11:00a-11:00p Current coverage needs: 07/06, 9:00a-9:00p 07/08, 9:00a-9:00p 07/09, 9:00a-9:00p 07/10, 9:00a-9:00p 07/11, 9:00a-9:00p 07/14, 9:00a-9:00p 07/22, 9:00a-9:00p 07/30, 9:00a-9:00p Patient Population: All ages EMR: EPIC Credentialing: 90 days Requirements: Active Wisconsin licensure Board certification AHA BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications Minimum 1-year Emergency Medicine experience or equivalent Job Responsibilities (Generalized): Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions Develop and implement individualized treatment plans Order and interpret diagnostic tests Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices. Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and APP specialty Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care Document patient care accurately and thoroughly Skills: Strong clinical knowledge and assessment skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients Proficiency in performing physical examinations and procedures relevant to their specialty Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to diagnose and manage complex medical conditions Time management skills to efficiently manage a patient workload Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a healthcare team Requirements Education: Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NP specialty (e.g., family practice, adult-gerontology, pediatrics) Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree from an accredited program Licenses & Certifications: Active and unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in Wisconsin National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners [AANP]) Active and unencumbered physician assistant (PA) license in Wisconsin National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) Experience: While specific requirements may vary, most locum APP positions prefer candidates with at least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty Benefits Travel: If you reside greater than 50 miles from the facility you are eligible for travel benefits.
