Position: SHO Doctor – Accident & Emergency (A&E)
Trust: Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust
Location: Worcestershire Royal Hospital / Urgent Care A&E, Worcester
Contract Dates: 1st September 2025 – 6th October 2025
Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday (09:00 - 17:00)
Rate: Within West Midlands Cluster Rate Cap (Grade ST1 - ST3)

REQUIREMENTS:

• Recent A&E experience essential
• Valid Life Support certifications
• Two recent clinical references
  This locum opportunity offers experienced A&E SHO doctors the chance to support a busy and dynamic Emergency Department at Worcester Royal Hospital. The role is critical in delivering timely, high-quality emergency care to patients across the region.

JOB SUMMARY

The SHO Doctor in A&E will work as part of a multidisciplinary emergency team providing front-line care to a diverse patient population presenting with urgent and emergency conditions. You will assess, diagnose, and manage patients with a wide range of clinical presentations, working under consultant supervision and alongside senior nurses and specialty teams.

• Deliver timely assessment and management of acute medical emergencies
• Ensure safe and effective handovers
• Work collaboratively within a multi-professional team
• Escalate complex or deteriorating cases appropriately to senior clinicians
• Maintain accurate documentation in line with GMC guidelines
• Adhere to Trust protocols and national emergency care standards
