Description:
Summary: LINK 427 General Partnership is a joint venture responsible for designing, building, financing and operating/maintaining the 427 Expansion project.
The Emergency Response Operator will work together with the Patroller to resolve day to day issues on the highway which require their attention. This will include anything from debris pick up to emergency closures on the highway. The Emergency Response Operators will also perform routine maintenance operations and repair deficiencies throughout the contract on a daily basis.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Class D commercial license with air brake endorsement (Z) is required
· Highway maintenance, winter patrol and emergency response experience with knowledge of OTM Book 7 are strong assets
· Willingness to learn and appreciate LINK427 values
· Customer service orientation to effectively communicate with various stake holders (MTO, General Public) and attend to their concerns with the utmost sense of urgency
· Excellent team player, proven ability to work productively in a highly functional team
· Flexibility and organizational skills to multi task and manage time in a fast paced environment with rapidly shifting priorities
· Basic computer skills to navigate weather, equipment data, Miller and MTO work sites
· Effective communication skills (both written and verbal) to accurately document daily activities, incident reports and deficiency logs
· Willingness to work assigned day, night and weekend shifts with rotating on-call requirements
· Ability to perform manual labour and lift between 50 – 70 pounds
· Willingness to work and drive in extreme weather conditions

Responsibilities:
· Respond to calls dispatched from MTO with a sense of urgency, complete incident investigation along with the Patroller and liaise with the Foreperson and MTO as needed
· Provide traffic control at the accident scene, including set up and take down of OTM book 7 traffic closures
· Provide debris control and respond to emergency situations such as spills, accidents, inclement weather and assist in implementing an emergency plan as needed
· Make repairs to the highway (including but not limited to pothole repairs, installing signs, grass cutting, guide rail repairs etc.)
· Assist in identification of deficiencies and inspections of highway infrastructure by regular daily patrols of the highways and notify the Foreperson
· Conduct daily circle checks on vehicles. Ensure fuel and other fluid levels are optimum
· Clean and maintain the vehicle and perform minor repairs
· Maintain accurate documentation - Hours of service, Fuel records, Incident reports, Time sheets, Diaries, Logs etc.
· Perform housekeeping duties within the shop, lunchroom, washroom, common areas and exterior of yard
· Other duties as assigned
