Emergency Response Plan Technician (Permanent - FT) Located in the North Thompson valley, at Simpcw Resources LLP, we provide environmental, ecological, and cultural resource services while preserving Simpcw culture and heritage with respect for the environment. Our mission is to support sustainable economic development within the Simpcwúl̓ecw (Simpcw Territory) by delivering high-quality services. Job Summary: Reporting to and under the general direction of the Corporate HSE Manager, the Emergency Response Plan Technician actively promotes the health, safety, and environmental culture to all levels of employees by providing accurate emergency response plans to crews within the Simpcw Territory. This position is located in Chu Chua, north of Barriere, BC. Responsibilities: Create compliant emergency response plans for a variety of departments Develop response plans appropriate to location and hazards of projects Work with project managers to obtain key project information and the work locations of projects Utilize Google Earth or resource road maps to determine project locations based on coordinates Perform first aid assessments in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety Regulations Assess worksites on their accessibility to determine appropriate response Assist with missed worker check ins Ensure timely creation of required plans to meet project requirements Act as a safety champion, promoting a positive safety culture. Assist in the training and implementation of plans for workers Assist in the performance of safety drills and assessments on site Establish and maintain updated local resource and contact lists in case of emergency Other duties as required to support health, safety and emergency initiatives Requirements: Superior communication skills (oral and written) Ability to utilize technology to create customized plans Intermediate user level in Microsoft Office Programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills Forestry, Environmental, Civil Construction, Pipeline Construction experience considered an asset Experience working with First Nations people is valued Knowledge of the Simpcw First Nations community is valued What we offer: Competitive compensation A positive, collaborative, and safety-focused team environment Meaningful work supporting environmental stewardship and cultural resource protection Note: Pre-Employment Drug and Alcohol Testing may be required Application Deadline: Open until filled.
