Job Description Assists the nursing staff in the performance of technical / laboratory duties exclusively in the Emergency Department. Job Responsibility * Assists nursing staff in the preparation and treatment of patients in the Emergency Department. * Assists Emergency Department staff and triage nurse with various procedures including bleeding control, orthopedics (i.e. crutch set and splinting), suturing, CPR and supplemental oxygen administration (as trained). * Assists with various laboratory functions including transporting patients and specimens to appropriate areas and utilizing and maintaining the ABG/ Glucose analyzer (as trained). * Transports telemetry patients to inpatient units. * Assists Inventory Clerks and Transporters in checking, ordering and/or stocking supplies, testing equipment as well as cleansing and processing used equipment for Central Sterile department. * Documents all procedures performed in the medical record and signs/titles appropriately ensuring all charts are countersigned by a Registered Nurse. * Performs related duties as required. Responsibilities
