About the role Join our Health, Safety, Environment & Community team as an Emergency & Security Officer, where you’ll play a vital role in maintaining the safety, security and well-being of our workforce. In this hands-on position, you’ll provide emergency response, first aid support, site security oversight, and ensure critical equipment and systems are always ready for action. We’re seeking a proactive, confident and reliable team player with strong communication skills, a commitment to high standards, and the ability to respond effectively in dynamic environments. Roster: 7/7, 12 hours per day (day & night shift) Location: Peak Mine, Cobar NSW, Federation Mine, Nymagee NSW, Brisbane CBD, Cobar Region, NSW Travel options Residents enjoy a balanced roster and the opportunity to settle into the family-friendly township of Cobar. Relocation support is available, along with a residential allowance Key responsibilities Provide first response to emergencies and support incident management Oversee site security, access control, and compliance with security procedures Deliver First Aid and Advanced First Aid across all operational areas Conduct and maintain daily, weekly and monthly inspections of emergency and first aid equipment Perform on-site drug, alcohol and hydration screening Maintain accurate reports, registers and security records with strict confidentiality Actively participate in the Mines Emergency Response Team and contribute to continuous safety improvement Qualifications and experience [Update as per job brief/PD] Previous emergency services or mining industry experience (highly regarded) Current C Class Driver’s Licence Occupational First Aid Skill Set (HLTSS00068 or equivalent) HLTPAT005 – Collect specimens for drugs of abuse testing High level computer skills across MS Office applications Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team NSW Security Licence and Certificate III in Emergency Response (desirable) Understanding of incident management systems and emergency response processes MAKE AN IMPACT, GET RECOGNISED – BE AN AURELIAN At Aurelia Metals, our people are at the heart of everything we do.
