Responsibilities

Reporting to the Field Manager, the Emergency Services Officer (EMSO) is responsible for providing critical emergency response and diagnostic services to ensure the safety and reliability of Ausgrid’s network. This role operates on a 24/7 rotating shift roster, responding to network incidents such as storms, bushfires, and other emergency situations that impact the electrical grid.
As an EMSO, you will prioritise tasks to maximise productivity and ensure optimal use of resources. This includes replacing Low Voltage distribution fuses to maintain the integrity of the network and keep services running efficiently.
In addition to fieldwork, the EMSO conducts thorough investigations into incidents like electric shocks, fire damage, and high voltage (HV) into low voltage (LV) faults. You will also prepare detailed reports and collaborate with emergency services and regulatory bodies during these investigations. Furthermore, the role involves identifying non-conformance in customer installations and completing the necessary reporting to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
