As a member of the Health Support Center (HSC) team, you'll support those that are in our facilities who are interfacing and providing care to our patients and community members to positively impact our mission of making communities healthier ®. Job Summary: The Emergency Services Technician performs administrative/clerical duties in support of an assigned area. Is also required to perform telemetry monitoring. Reports to: Emergency Room Director FLSA: Non-exempt Job Requirements: Minimum Education High school diploma or equivalent is required. Graduated from an approved EMT Paramedic or EMT Intermediate program is preferred. Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) is required upon hire. License: Certified Nursing Aide license is preferred. Minimum Work Experience: One (1) year of experience preferred. Essential Functions: Greets patients and visitors. Answers, screens, and routes telephone calls. Calls codes, pages, and overhead announcements as requested. Enters nursing requests subject to the approval of a licensed nurse. Ask for clarification when necessary. Assists with processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges. Assembles and maintains patient records and charts. Performs needed clerical tasks, including copying, filing, and ordering/stocking supplies. Assists RNs and physicians with other patient activities as needed. Perform continual surveillance of multiple monitors. Identifies significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervenes appropriately. Identifies and corrects for artifacts. Reports abnormal assessment and telemetry findings or changes in patient physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff. Tests equipment for proper working order. Reports on equipment problems to supervisor. Other tasks that may be assigned.
