Our facility boasts state-of-the-art technology, along with an experienced team of highly skilled Emergency Veterinarians and Nurses. AEC Kedron is currently seeking capable and dedicated Emergency Veterinary Nurses to join our dynamic team. As an Emergency Veterinary Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing timely and compassionate care. This position involves working in a fast-paced environment where quick thinking, excellent communication skills, and a passion for emergency and critical care are essential. Responsibilities: Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill and injured animals in the emergency department Quickly and accurately assess patients to determine the level of urgency and appropriate interventions Utilise advanced monitoring equipment to track vital signs and respond promptly to any changes in patient condition Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support staff to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication Update and communicate with pet owners regarding their pet's condition, treatment plans, and prognosis Assist in a variety of medical procedures, including but not limited to wound care, fluid therapy, and administration of medications Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with hospital protocols Stay current with advancements in emergency and critical care medicine through ongoing training and professional development Skills/Qualifications: Cert IV qualified nurse or equivalent qualification Minimum 2+ years of experience in ECC nursing OR within a busy GP clinic Proficient in IV catheter placement, blood sample collection, and anesthesia monitoring Familiarity with advanced monitoring equipment is advantageous Ability to work well and adapt quickly to challenges in a fast-paced environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and compassionately to pet owners Benefits: Competitive rate commensurate with experience Opportunities for professional development and continuing education Comprehensive health and wellness benefits Supportive and collaborative team environment Employee discounts on veterinary services and retail products If you're looking to join a leading emergency care facility, please submit your resume and cover letter via the link!
