CITY OF WORCESTER

The City of Worcester is seeking qualified applicants for an Emerging Technologies Intern in the Innovation and Technology Department. The Emerging Technologies Intern will assist the Department of Innovation and Technology in enhancing the City’s technology portfolio. This position supports citywide efforts to improve service delivery through innovative technology solutions. Under the supervision of the Chief Information Officer, the Emerging Technologies Intern will focus on projects related to data management, analytics, and artificial intelligence.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Experience with data pipelines and ETL processes
  • Comprehension of data lake concepts
  • Comprehension of PII and processes to protect sensitive information
  • Knowledge of diverse technology tools and platforms.
  • Excellent organizational skills, the ability to plan and prioritize work.
  • Possess a high degree of attention to detail
  • Knowledgeable in archival principles, protocols and standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Regular onsite attendance is required
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage tasks independently
  • Strong problem-solving and technical troubleshooting abilities

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be enrolled in a graduate-level program in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
  • Excellent communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Familiarity with PowerBI
  • Familiarity with geographic information
  • Familiarity with Microsoft CoPilot Studio
    SALARY: $15.00 hourly, part-time, non-benefitted.
