Description
Overview Element has an opportunity for an EMI EMC Technician II to join our rapidly expanding team. As a member of the operations team, the Technician II performs routine and moderately complex military and aerospace EMI testing assignments and ensures timely and accurate test execution under limited supervision. This role supports qualification programs to MIL STD 461 and RTCA DO 160 while building technical depth in regulated compliance testing environments. The Technician II must demonstrate strong attention to detail, procedural discipline, and adherence to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures. Salary: $25- $35/hr DOE Responsibilities Performs EMI EMC testing to MIL STD 461 and RTCA DO 160 requirements Executes conducted and radiated emissions and susceptibility testing under approved procedures Uses TILE! automated test software for test control, sequencing, and data capture Assists with test setup, configuration, execution, and teardown in accordance with customer specifications and approved test procedures Builds and configures complex electrical and RF test setups using cables, attenuators, amplifiers, filters, and related instrumentation Operates common electrical and RF test equipment including spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, power meters, and network analyzers Works with AC and DC power sources, power distribution equipment, and line impedance stabilization networks Routes, labels, and troubleshoots cable harnesses and test configurations to support repeatable results Identifies and escalates test issues related to grounding, bonding, shielding, cabling, or electrical noise Executes test plans with limited supervision and guidance from a Department Manager, Principal Technician, Project Coordinator, or Engineer Accurately follows test standards, procedures, and work instructions Records, analyzes, and compiles test data and preliminary results in accordance with quality requirements Communicates test status, issues, and observations clearly to engineers and project staff Supports junior technicians through informal mentoring and technical guidance under direction of senior staff Maintains and applies a strong working knowledge of laboratory, electrical, and RF safety practices Skills / Qualifications College or vocational coursework or certificate in electronics, engineering technology, or a related field preferred Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field and or 3 to 5 years of applicable electrical, electronics, RF, avionics, or laboratory testing experience Backgrounds in electrical assembly, avionics, aerospace test, power electronics, RF, instrumentation, or automated test systems translate well to this role Solid understanding of fundamental EMI EMC concepts including grounding, bonding, shielding, filtering, and cabling Strong computer skills including use of test automation software such as TILE!, data management systems, and standard office tools Physical Demands Frequency of required physical force: Minimum to moderate Lifting requirements: lifting less than 50 lbs often and greater than 50 lbs on occasion Ability to stand for extended periods of time Diversity Statement At Element, we always take pride in putting our people first.
