KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of nuclear physics, nuclear astrophysics, and radiation measurement.
  • Experience in operating radiation detectors.
  • General computing skills.
  • Experience with scientific computing and data acquisition systems.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Ph.D. in nuclear physics or nuclear chemistry (earned within the past 5 years).

Responsibilities
  • Simulate, configure, maintain, integrate, and commission components of EMMA, TIGRESS, and auxiliary detectors.
  • Couple, decouple, and reconfigure the spectrometers as needed.
  • Participate in EMMA-TIGRESS experiments.
  • Prepare presentations, reports, and documentation for review panels.
  • Analyze experimental data and present results through peer-reviewed scientific journals and at national and international conferences and workshops.
