Join our award-winning team as an Employability Adviser.
This role sits within the Graduate Futures department, which prepares our students for progression into graduate-level employment or enterprise and builds an active community of alumni who support current students through giving time, expertise or philanthropic donations.
As part of our dedicated and successful Careers and Enterprise Team, you will be responsible for the effective delivery of employability within the curriculum. The post will report to one of two Senior Employability Advisers and will cover a range of responsibilities that support successful implementation of the Industry, Careers and Enterprise (ICE) module as well as embedding employability into the curriculum more generally.

You will be a key resource to support the effective delivery of the ICE module within the new academic framework, engaging with industry to source client projects and working with academics to ensure a high quality and consistent approach. You will be aligned to one of the following three academic schools:

  • Business, Law and Policing
  • Nursing, Midwifery, Allied and Public Health
  • Social Work, Education and Teacher Education

We are looking for an individual with knowledge of career and employability development and experience of translating this knowledge into the design of engaging workshops and other types of meaningful employability-focused interventions (e.g. careers fairs, pop-ups, meet-the-employer events) to ensure our course content and extra-curricular support meets the challenging expectations of industry and the career aspirations of our students.
You will demonstrate excellent communication, presentation and project management skills. You will feel comfortable developing and building effective relationships with local employers and other external stakeholders to facilitate access to our student talent and prepare/equip our students with the required knowledge and skills to secure graduate-level employment. You will be able to work effectively within a team using your own initiative to deliver with drive and enthusiasm.
