RATP Dev, John Holland, Alstom, WSP and KBR, have been selected to deliver the Linewide scope of works for Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) East. SRL East is the first stage of the Suburban Rail Loop, comprising of a fully tunnelled 26-kilometre metro corridor between Cheltenham to the south of Melbourne and Box Hill to the north. Within this alliance, RATP Dev has partnered with John Holland in a dedicated Joint Venture called TransitLinX. Our joint venture will focus entirely on the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) component of this project.

About the Role:

The People & Culture (P&C) Adviser is a key member of the TransitLinX O&M team, responsible for curating an exceptional employee experience and providing professional, personable support across all frontline HR and Industrial Relations matters.

Reporting to the Project Director and the General Managers of P&C, you will be instrumental in developing the right tools and frameworks for the business, supporting everything from recruitment and onboarding to performance management and policy implementation. This is a hands-on role where you will manage HR systems, advise leaders on best practice, and champion a positive workplace culture as we mobilise for this city-shaping project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • HR Operations & Systems: Manage and maintain HR systems and processes, including preparing documentation, maintaining accurate personnel records, and ensuring a smooth and efficient P&C service for the business.
  • Recruitment & Onboarding: Assist with end-to-end recruitment processes and coordinate the onboarding of new employees to ensure a seamless and positive candidate and new starter experience.
  • Employee & Industrial Relations: Provide advice to employees and management on conditions of employment and employment legislation, manage performance management cases, and assist with IR matters as required.
  • Performance & Development: Coordinate the performance review process and manage the competency framework for technical staff to meet asset management requirements.
  • Policy & Projects: Research and recommend HR policies and procedures, provide expert P&C advice to project teams, and assist with the management and implementation of the Workforce Participation and Sustainability Strategy.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with managers and employees, providing high-level support and guidance to promote quality P&C outcomes for the project.


About You:

You are an experienced and operationally-focused HR professional with a strong generalist background and a passion for creating a first-class employee experience. You thrive in dynamic, project-based environments, have exceptional analytical skills, and are driven to provide pragmatic, effective P&C solutions. You will bring:

  • Proven operational experience (typically 5+ years) in applying HR principles, ideally within the construction, infrastructure, or a related industrial sector.
  • A sound understanding of contemporary employment and industrial relations practices and regulations.
  • Experience with HRIS systems is essential; familiarity with Employment Hero is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to counsel and assist employees and guide managers on performance-related matters.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an innovative and proactive approach to resolving issues.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to persuade and influence to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or equivalent industry experience.

The Employee Communications & Engagement Partner will support the People function by delivering clear, engaging and consistent communications across the business.

Reporting to Head of Industrial Relations & HR, you will work closely with people team and operational leaders, the role will develop employee communications, engagement initiatives and communication plans while supporting workforce, union and organisational communications.

Your Activities

  • Develop and deliver internal employee communication and engagement plans.
  • Draft employee announcements, leadership communications, FAQs, presentations, briefing materials and key messages.
  • Partner with Head of HR Industrial Relations and HR to support employee and union communications, consultation materials and workforce messaging.
  • Support communications relating to organisational change, People initiatives and workplace updates.
  • Develop engaging employee content including videos, employee stories and internal campaigns.
  • Support employer branding and People-related social media content.
  • Provide communications advice and support to leaders and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure communications are clear, consistent, timely and appropriate for a diverse operational workforce.

About You

  • Minimum 3+ years' experience in internal, employee or corporate communications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience developing communication plans and employee-focused content.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and confidence working with leaders.
  • Ability to communicate sensitive or complex information clearly and professionally.
  • Experience with digital content, social media, video or employer branding is advantageous.
