WHO WE ARE:

Canadian Mental Health Association Durham is an integrated community mental health and primary care hub that has been providing mental health services to Durham Region for over 60 years. During that time, it has evolved to provide a broad range of services to individuals and their families experiencing mental health challenges, from information and education to case management, psychosocial rehabilitation, housing and primary healthcare. These services are provided through inter-professional teams focused on providing clinically based services that, in addition to dealing with client mental health issues, address social determinants of health using the recovery model.

GENERAL EMPLOYEE EXPERIENCE SUPPORT

  • Support the Performance Management process by monitoring the probationary periods for new staff to meet timelines
  • Maintain the filing system according to process to ensure that information is readily available when needed
  • Manages portions of projects and events as assigned to contribute to the success of the project

SKILLS:

  • Post-secondary degree in a relevant field (e.g. Bachelor’s Degree, Human Resources and/or relevant field) is required.
  • Actively working toward CHRP designation is preferred
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in human resources, in several functional areas including recruitment, onboarding, report and documentation preparation, office procedures, with direct experience with confidentiality within PHIPA and FIPPA
  • Additional training and/or certification in health care privacy is an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; able to prioritize and demonstrate agility to meet the daily requests of the role effectively
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong knowledge in various aspects of applicable legislation related to labour laws and privacy
  • Effective client relationship building skills; understanding the client’s needs and background
  • Strong computer skills including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Visio and Canva or Power Point (an asset)
  • Ability to work independently and co-operatively as part of a team, management, stakeholders and partners such as external vendors
  • Able to integrate CMHA Durham’s philosophy of being a “welcoming organization” into everyday practice.
  • General knowledge of the mental health environment in Ontario.
  • Ability to adapt to change and navigate through ambiguous situations
  • Project management skills
  • Intermediate fluency in French, written and oral, considered an asset.
Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

Reporting to the Sr. Performance Manager, Employee Experience and Privacy and working within and part of the Employee Experience (EE) Program this individual is responsible for functions related to the various activities within the EE Program. This includes supporting the Leads to coordinate, recruitment, onboarding, training, benefits and special projects as identified by the Leads or Sr. Performance Manager. This role will contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of the EE Ticket System, the Quarterly Key Performance Indicator (KPI) report and will provide administrative support to the Sr. PM in the management and maintenance of the Privacy portfolio.
