JOB DESCRIPTION:

Leibniz IPHT develops light-based solutions that provide answers to key societal challenges in the areas of health, medicine, the environment, energy and security: solutions that make life safer, healthier and more sustainable. The Leibniz IPHT is a member of the Leibniz Association and a non-university research institution with close links to the Friedrich Schiller University Jena.
The team at the Scientific Coordination Unit supports Leibniz IPHT scientists in matters of research funding and advises and supports them in applying for and carrying out research projects with publicly funded third-party donors. It also provides support with the content, organization and monitoring of quality assurance for third-party funded projects and is responsible for the administrative management of research and third-party funding. The Scientific Coordination team is therefore active at the interface between science, administration and funding organizations.

YOUR QUALIFICATION:

  • Completed technical or university degree (preferably in natural sciences or engineering, Bachelor, Master or Diploma) desirable, but not required

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Experience in acquiring third-party funding and managing large project budgets
  • Adherence to deadlines in teamwork at the interface between science, administration and funding organizations
  • Reliability, friendly appearance, high level of commitment, excellent teamwork skills
  • Very good verbal and written communication skills in German and good in English
  • Confident handling of MS Office
  • Experience with database work
  • Interest in interdisciplinary collaboration and communication is a prerequisite
  • Knowledge of project management or basic financial understanding is an advantage
