Employee Relations Advisor - (Temporary for 2 Months)
Location- hybrid 3 days in office, potentially 5 depending on business needs
Day rate - £250 per day PAYE including holidays
The purpose of this role is to deliver professional People Relations Advisory support to key stakeholders and colleagues within the business and broader People Function. You will actively manage issues as they arise, take ownership of the employee lifecycle. You will play an active role in creating an energising and cohesive workplace environment, actively flagging opportunities to improve processes and business outcomes.

Your responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and support: Advise line managers and employees on key people management/HR processes and policies, including: grievances; mediation; probation management; performance management; absence management, including long term sickness/capability; redundancy consultation management; and conduct investigation and disciplinaries
  • Act as the HR representative and support in any formal meetings to ensure fairness and consistency
  • Collaborate with managers to best proactively address any issues within their teams
  • Update policies where required in line with legislation updates
  • Ensure compliance: Stay updated with employment laws and regulations to mitigate legal risks
  • Train managers: Provide coaching on effective employee relations practices as and when required
  • Analyse data: Monitor employee relations trends and propose proactive solutions.
  • Maintain records: Keep accurate and confidential documentation of employee relations matters.
  • Adhoc administration and recruitment support may be required

What you’ve done before:

  • Prior demonstrable experience in a similar People (HR) function or role
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and relevant People systems, tools and processes
  • Worked in a fast-moving, demanding environment with excellent stakeholder engagement skills and experience
  • Strong ER case management experience (e.g. grievances, performance management, redundancy consultation) is essential
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law is essential
  • Customer service focused with high accountability
  • Strong Team Spirit to support the wider People Services team
  • Excellent communicator across all levels
  • Ability to build trust quickly
  • Ability to work under pressure with conflicting priorities
