You bring: Proven experience as an HR Advisor, Employee Relations Specialist, or similar role Strong planning and organisational skills Experience supporting a range of employee matters, including investigations and complex cases A solid understanding of People & Culture practices and employment frameworks Sound knowledge of Australian employment laws and the ability to interpret and apply them thoughtfully A strong connection to Aussie’s values and a commitment to using them to guide your work Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Active listening and thoughtful questioning skills A calm, solutions-focused approach to resolving conflict Discretion, empathy, and professionalism when handling sensitive matters Confidence working independently and collaboratively Adaptability and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment How will you support our “Why?” As our Employee Relations Advisor, working in our centralised People Services team, you’ll bring our values to life by supporting these key activities and outcomes: Provide expert guidance on complex employment matters such as underperformance, conduct, terminations, investigations, and more Support and guide leaders to confidently manage employee matters, reducing the need for escalation Facilitate and coordinate learning sessions to build leader capability Collaborate across the People & Culture team to identify emerging themes and contribute to proactive improvements in the employee experience Coordinate and support workplace reviews and investigations, and work with our Partnering Team to share insights with leaders Maintain clear records of ongoing matters and use data to identify patterns and opportunities for improvement Stay across changes in employment legislation and help communicate these shifts to the business in a clear and practical way Contribute to the ongoing improvement of our People policies and processes, ensuring they remain current, inclusive, and effective Support a culture of thoughtful, risk-aware choices that balance fairness, compliance, and care Ready to join? Aussie Broadband is an Australian operated telecommunications company that was formed in 2008 and is based in Morwell Victoria, Australia. The company’s main focus is nbn™ (NBN) subscription plans and bundles to residential homes, small businesses, not-for-profits, corporate/enterprise and managed service providers. As a licensed carrier, the company provides these services through a wholesale agreement with NBN Co, a mix of leased backhaul infrastructure from third parties and its own network equipment. Responsibilities
As an Employee Relations Specialist, you will provide expert guidance on complex employment matters and support leaders in managing employee issues effectively. You will also collaborate with the People & Culture team to improve the employee experience and maintain compliance with employment legislation.
