Black Cultural Zone Community Development Corporation (BCZ CDC) is seeking a Thrive Coach (Employee Relations) with a demonstrated track record in conflict resolution, well-being support, and promoting healthy organizational culture. This specialized Thrive Coach focuses on fostering a positive, supportive, and productive work environment by managing employee relations, addressing workplace conflicts, and promoting holistic staff well-being in alignment with the BCZ's mission. This position is vital for advancing BCZ CDC's mission to unapologetically center Black arts, culture, and economics in East Oakland and to guide the organization toward sustainability and maximizing its mission impact. We are seeking someone who is connected to and has a love for the East Oakland community. WHAT YOU'LL DO As the Thrive Coach (Employee Relations), you will be responsible for a comprehensive range of engagement and support functions, ensuring a thriving, ethical, and collaborative culture for BCZ CDC staff. Conflict Resolution & Guidance: Serve as a confidential resource for staff to address concerns, resolve conflicts, and navigate team roles and responsibilities. Holistic Staff Support: Support team members with resources and information to address holistic needs, including social, emotional, belonging, and safety. Culture & Engagement: Assist with planning and implementing team-building and engagement initiatives to support a cohesive organizational culture. Organizational Assessment: Conduct assessments or check-ins to monitor employee satisfaction and identify areas for organizational improvement. Values Alignment: Ensure that employee interactions and organizational processes uphold the Black Cultural Zone's values and mission. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS The ideal candidate for this role is an empathetic listener and strategic partner with meticulous attention to ethical conduct and cultural competence. Education & Experience: You must have a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Social Work, or a related field with a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in employee relations, HR, or workplace counseling/coaching. Specialized Knowledge: The role requires a strong working knowledge of mediation and conflict resolution techniques and best practices in employee engagement and well-being. Proven track record of maintaining strict confidentiality and demonstrating sound judgment in sensitive workplace situations is a requirement. Experience operating within a mission-driven, community-centered non-profit is highly desirable. Abilities: You must have strong interpersonal qualities, with the ability to build trust and provide impartial, decisive guidance. Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills are essential to communicate clearly, compassionately, and effectively with staff across all levels. You must also be highly organized, self-disciplined, and able to manage multiple confidential responsibilities with minimal supervision. The hourly for this role is $27.00- $33.33.
