SUMMARY

As a Career Developer / Employer Relationship Manager, you would be an essential member of our team, responsible for developing relationships with employers to identify suitable employment opportunities for clients, among other key duties, including providing clients with job search resources and assisting employers to assess hiring needs, craft job descriptions, and coordinate interviews for prospective candidates. In this role, you would also have individual targets to achieve related to securing employment opportunities for clients.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Between 3 years and 10 years of experience — preferably in the mid-to-upper half of this range — as a job/career developer, employer liaison, or employer relationship manager with demonstrated track record of building strong employer partnerships and successfully securing employment opportunities for clients
  • BA Degree or College Diploma in Career/Job Development or a related discipline, including Psychology, Education, Communications, Human Resources, Recruiting, or Social Services
  • Demonstrated success in achieving targets and outcomes within performance-based service delivery models
  • Superior oral and written communication skills, administrative, organization and time management skills
  • Self-motivated professional known for taking initiative, owning responsibilities, and consistently following through to ensure high-quality outcomes
  • Dependable team player, fostering collaboration and contributing to shared goals
  • Thrives in fast-paced environments with strong multi-tasking skills
  • Strong documentation and case management skills, with the ability to maintain accurate, detailed records and manage client files effectively
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Microsoft Teams, and social media platforms (e.g. LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram) for professional communication and networking
  • Knowledge and understanding of Canadian labour market conditions, policies, practices, trends, job search strategies and techniques
  • Strong interpersonal, employment coaching, interviewing and presentation skills
  • Proven experience working with unemployed, underemployed, vulnerable individuals who face barriers to entering the labour market
  • Broad knowledge of community-based services and supports
  • Valid Ontario ‘G’ class driver’s license with access to vehicle
  • Approved/eligible Vulnerable Sector Check required
Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic employer outreach initiatives
  • Network and develop relationships with employers, including site visits, industry events, and hosting information sessions
  • Educate and promote various employment services programs to employers
  • Collaborate with employers to assess hiring needs, craft job descriptions, and coordinate interviews for prospective candidates
  • Provide employers with sensitivity/diversity training, workplace safety training and information on accommodation needs
  • Assist employers access, apply, and administer hiring incentives and subsidies
  • Follow up with employers and track progress of client career progress
  • Match job opportunities with client qualifications, background/experience, and career goals
  • Recommend and administer funding for training and financial supports to remove employment barriers, obtain employment, or career advancement
  • Recommend and implement funding to support persons with disabilities that may affect employment participation, including specialized training and workplace accommodations
  • Identifying and resolve workplace issues that may job retention and advancement
  • Administer and facilitate workshops such as, job search resources, resume and cover letter editing/writing, interview techniques, and utilizing social media & AI tool
  • Develop customized resumes and cover letters, provide interview coaching, and design personalized job search strategies to enhance client employability
  • Coordinate and arrange and job fairs, networking events, and employer information sessions
  • Apply to relevant job postings on behalf of clients, tailoring applications to match job criteria and increase the likelihood of interview selection
  • Provided ongoing mentoring and coaching to clients throughout the job search process, fostering confidence and improving employment outcomes
  • Develop regular and ad hoc reports tracking key performance indicators in addition to completing other administrative duties as necessary
  • Research and analyze labour market related trends, government funding programs, and policy developments
  • Use of EOIS-CaMS system to manage client files, record service activities, and perform timely follow-ups to ensure consistent and accurate case tracking
  • Collaborate across the organization and external partnerships to enhance job development strategies, drive operational efficiencies, and promote the adoption of best practices

    Pay: $50,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
