QUALIFICATIONS:

  • GCSEs A–C (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • Relevant professional qualification or willingness to work towards one.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Experience in recruitment, employment advisory, or similar roles supporting clients into work.
  • Understanding of welfare benefits and employment-related barriers.
  • Strong ICT skills, including Microsoft Office and database use.
  • Ability to manage caseloads and meet performance targets.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, data protection, and best practices.
  • Skilled in using multiple communication methods to maintain client engagement.
Responsibilities

WHAT’S INVOLVED WITH THIS ROLE:

As an Employment Advisor within the BBE Employability Team, you will support adults who have been out of work long-term to overcome barriers to employment. Working on externally funded programmes, you’ll provide tailored advice, motivation, and practical job-seeking support, often using the IPS (Individual Placement and Support) and SEQF (Supported Employment Quality Framework) models. You’ll collaborate with local partners and employers to help individuals improve their employability, confidence, wellbeing, and independence.
The post holder will need knowledge in client case management, action planning, barrier identification, supported employment methods, and inter-agency collaboration.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage a high-volume or complex caseload, supporting clients into sustainable employment.
  • Develop personalised action plans, including pre-employment training and job search activities.
  • Deliver support using IPS and SEQF models in line with fidelity standards.
  • Organise interviews, employer engagement, referrals, and training access.
  • Deliver workshops on CVs, interviews, job applications, and employability skills.
  • Provide 1:1 support in CV writing and job applications, and facilitate employer introductions.
  • Track and report on outcomes, progress, and job sustainability metrics.
