Responsibilities

ROLE SUMMARY:

As an Employment Consultant specialising in Workers Compensation and CTP schemes, you will work with injured people, insurers, and employers to facilitate sustainable return-to-work outcomes. This includes assessing vocational capacity, identifying suitable employment options, providing job-seeking support, and liaising with key stakeholders throughout the return-to-work journey.
The role is based at our office in Murwillumbah, however the role entails meeting injured people and stakeholders in the community on a frequent basis.
This role is dynamic and relationship-focussed. Every day will be different. You be a guide to people with injuries ranging from minor to catastrophic.

YOUR KEY DUTIES:

  • Administering the Job Skills Training Program as per regulated by SIRA (State Insurance Regulatory Authority).
  • Providing vocational counselling to assist injured people identify their motivations and interests for work.
  • Facilitating Job Seeking Assistance meetings.
  • Job Canvassing (cold-calling) for Suitable Employment on behalf of the injured person, by way of promoting the Job Cover Placement Program with prospective employers.
  • Developing a network of employers who can offer placements to people needing to change from their pre-injury role to suitable employment.
  • Liasing with stakeholders including to manage expectations of all parties involved in the injured person’s return-to-work plan, such as the worker themselves, the insurer, the doctor, other treatment practicioners, family members, and employers.
