Position Title: Employment Facilitator
Terms of Employment: Full Time Term Position (40hr/week) Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Contract starts Sep 2, 2025 and ends Aug 31, 2026 (with potential for renewal upon funding)
The Canadian Muslim Women’s Institute (CMWI) is a Family Resource Centre fostering wellbeing, safety, and belonging for all. At the Canadian Muslim Women’s Institute, our goal is to facilitate the successful social and economic integration of newcomers, refugees, and marginalized communities in Manitoba. POSITION SUMMARY

The Employment Facilitator is responsible for delivering employment services to the program participants and CMWI clients. The main role of the Employment Facilitator is to conduct one-on-one career counselling, develop resumes, and facilitate group workshops to prepare and connect newcomers to the labor market. This includes: job search techniques, applications, networking, job interviews including mock interviews, working safely, employers’ expectations and Canadian workplace culture. She also collaborates with other staff and management to ensure employment services are delivered keeping in sight the vision, mission, and values of CMWI.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience delivering career coaching services and facilitating employment-related workshops
  • Experience assisting clients with a variety of job search techniques and methods
  • Client-focused, with ability to empathize with the needs of newcomers from diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Knowledge of issues facing newcomers and EIA recipients
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • knowledge of settlement service and community organizations
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Strong ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Non-judgmental and accepting attitude, with the ability to maintain confidentiality
    This position requires the successful completion of a Criminal Record Check including vulnerable sector.
