EMPLOYMENT LAW PARALEGAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

BRM Solicitors are a leading commercial and private client law firm, providing legal advice and services to businesses and individuals in Sheffield, Chesterfield and the wider regions of South Yorkshire, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.
Our expanding Employment department are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Paralegal to join the team at our Sheffield office, with some occasional requirements to work from our Chesterfield office.
The role will involve working with a variety of clients and assisting the Employment Team with administrative and case work tasks. The role is suitable for an existing paralegal or law graduate. Experience in employment law or HR would be an advantage but is not essential.

Responsibilities
  • To provide a comprehensive and efficient legal service as a paralegal and administrative assistant in the area of Employment Law and HR Services
  • To deal with the files of clients assigned to you and clients of the department when called upon to do so, including research, providing and drafting advice to our Employment Law Service Scheme clients
  • File opening, administration, completing anti-money laundering checks, and file closing, ensuring policies and procedures are followed
  • To assist in the growth and development of the department including attending marketing and networking events and HR Forums/ Mock Employment Tribunal events and presenting where appropriate
  • To ensure the confidentiality and security of all practice and client’s documentation and/or information
  • To carry out the duties given by the head of department, faithfully and diligently and follow all reasonable instructions
  • Assisting the fee earners in the team with new client enquiries and taking instructions, appointment and room bookings, and administration support
  • Manage time and tasks as a paralegal and administrative assistant, keeping a proper record of all work done, time recording and training received
  • Carry out monthly billing procedures including generating bills, sending bills to clients and assisting with credit control
  • Attending court and meetings and note taking as may be required
  • Comply with all requirements of the SRA.
