Job DetailsJob Location: OKLAHOMA CITY, OK 73103Salary Range: $44,000.00 Salary/yearPOSITION OVERVIEW The Diversion Hub is a comprehensive, one-stop network dedicated to assisting justice-involved individuals in Oklahoma City. The Diversion Hub Employment Navigator will provide assistance in developing, maintaining, and overseeing a work readiness and vocational guidance service in order to empower individuals with justice involvement in their career goals. RESPONSIBILITIES The Employment Navigator will focus on supporting the execution of the Diversion Hub's programs and mission. The responsibilities of this role include: Assisting clients in creating employment goals, building resumes, completing job applications, scheduling interviews, and providing follow through services. Assisting clients in identifying proper work attire, job leads, completing job applications, creating resumes, writing a letter of change, and searching for employment opportunities. Connecting clients to job openings. Conducting meetings as needed with clients to evaluate progress in accomplishing employment goals. Assisting clients in developing resources and connecting them to community social support networks. Assisting in the development and facilitation of on-site employment related workshops and trainings. Identifying and providing guidance to clients regarding educational and job training pathways. Providing job retention support for clients once placed in a job to ensure long-term success. Collaborating with Case Managers to identify clients in need of training and employment related services and providing direct assistance or appropriate referrals to achieve desired outcomes. Collaborating with Case Managers to support client access to needed supports and resources such as housing, government benefits, food, ID assistance, clothing, referrals to mental health providers, referrals to physical health facilities, referrals to substance use treatment services, vocational opportunities, drug tests, court order classes, and other relevant community services to empower participants to reach their career goals. Networking with prospective employers to promote the benefits of hiring justice involved people and maintaining healthy relationships with current employers in the community. Collaborating with other employment and education programs, maintaining consistent contact, and identifying appropriate referrals when needed. Participating in employment-related coalitions, groups, and committees. Developing and maintaining a list of current and potential employers. Adhere to agency code of ethics and professional standards including maintaining strict client confidentiality. Attending all staff development, trainings and meetings as required. Maintaining records in Salesforce database to track participants’ services received, outcomes, demographics, and to comply with grant objectives. Any other duties within the scope, spirit, and purpose of the job. QualificationsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 1 to 3+ years of experience in social work, communication, criminal justice, political science, or similar human service area. ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS Clearance of background Must have own transportation to work site, valid driver's license, and insurance on motor vehicle in accordance with state law and agency requirements. QUALIFICATIONS OF THE IDEAL CANDIDATE A working knowledge of the criminal legal system. Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills. Be able to interact with persons of diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds in a manner that demonstrates sensitivity toward cultural differences and respect for everyone. Possess maturity and judgment consistent with the high level of responsibility. Demonstrate capacity for teaching adults and older adults. Experience working with clients experiencing acute mental health. Experience working with clients living with substance use disorders. Demonstrate flexibility in position requirements. A proven track record developing community partnerships and building effective collaborations. Proven ability to meet multiple deadlines and balance numerous projects while maintaining a perspective on long-term goals. Independence and self-confidence to act decisively and, at the same time, an ability to receive, integrate and translate others’ ideas and suggestions. COMPUTER EQUIPMENT AND SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS Intermediate computer, mobile device, and internet skills with knowledge of software programs including but not limited to: Windows and Microsoft Office Products Cloud-based File Sharing such as Google Drive and SharePoint Adobe Products Client Databases PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to sit over long periods of time and be able to talk, hear, sit, stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl climb stairs, lift and or move items of up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Must have excellent command of English language and grammar, both verbal and written. Must be able to manually operate and use a computer. Must be able to clearly hear and understand telephone conversations.
