The Opportunity:
We currently have an opportunity available for an Employment Senior Associate to be based out of Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne.
Our national team are involved in the full range of employment law matters for a diverse client base across a range of industries including: enterprise bargaining and workplace relations, workplace transformation, employment and workplace relations disputes and litigation, global and local employment mobility issues, performance management, employee grievances, officer due diligence and the management of personal liability, compliance with safety laws - audits, protocols and risk management systems, managing incidents, investigations, inquests and prosecutions and designing and conducting training for dealing with all workplace issues.
We are keen to make a long term investment in a Senior Associate, with 6+ years’ experience in employment law, who is similarly looking to make a long term career commitment to our Employment practice. The role will work closely with the partners to continue to build the practice. Ashurst has a proven track record in developing lawyers and the vacancy represents an outstanding opportunity for a team-player with strong technical skills and an impressive commercial approach.

  • 6+ years’ employment law experience gained within a top-tier/highly regarded firm preferably across advisory, litigious and transactional work
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Superior drafting ability
  • A commercial approach and an ability to articulate and negotiate effectively
  • A proactive, positive and energetic approach with a commitment to providing excellent service and a desire to interact with the market and build client relationships
  • Strong attention to detail with well-developed analytical skills
  • The ability to be team-focused and also work independently
