Description EMPLOYMENT SERVICES COORDINATOR Reports To: Employment Services Manager Supervises: Employment Services Specialist, Employer Services Specialist and Employer Services Professional Status: Regular, Full-Time, Non-Exempt Work Location: In-Person, Canton, Ohio WHO IS WORKFORCE INITIATIVE ASSOCIATION (WIA): WIA's mission is to provide workforce development programs that serve area businesses and prepare adults and youth for worthwhile and sustainable employment, especially recognizing those economically disadvantaged individuals and others in special need, through the US Department of Labor’s Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act federally funded programs. WIA also operates the OhioMeansJobs Centers in Stark and Tuscarawas Counties; a partnership of community organizations providing employment, training, and education resources. The centers are located in Canton and New Philadelphia. WIA staff fulfill roles that directly assist job seeker and business customers with their workforce needs. Standard full-time work week of 37.50 hours (1950 hours per year). Compensation $25.13 to $27.27 per hour ($49,003 to $53,176 annually) commensurate with experience SUMMARY: The Employment Services Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the day-to-day workflow and activities for both the Employment Services and Employer Services units. This includes coordinating services for OhioMeansJobs Stark and Tuscarawas County at all points of access and providing support to the Employment Services Manager on reporting, employer relationships, and various projects. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES include the following. Perform any other duties or tasks consistent with the nature of this position and the goals of the organization. General Coordination and Operations Oversee daily operations of all employment and employer services at all points of access. Coordinate work assignments of staff to ensure coverage of all points of access, activities, and workshops. Implement OhioMeansJobs center policies and procedures as directed. Maintain regular meetings with WIA staff to communicate organizational operations, policies, and procedures. Act as a backup for the Employment Services Manager to conduct informational tours and meeting facilitation. Perform the duties of both the Employment Services Specialist and the Employer Services Specialist. Objectively evaluate staff performance and assess opportunities for professional development for staff when needed or desired. Assure staff provides exemplary customer service by maintaining regular contact with staff and customers and reviewing customer survey forms with the Manager Employment Services (Job Seeker Focus) Supervise and train staff to provide employment-related assistance to customers utilizing services in-person or virtually. Train staff in entering customer information into required state and local systems and monitor daily to ensure work is complete and accurate. Responsible for quality control of staff-generated work, such as resumes, generated job leads, and data entry. Be knowledgeable about partner programs and services to make appropriate customer referrals. Assign and manage job seeker requests and Partner referrals via the Prime system to ensure appropriate caseload levels are maintained for staff. Verify that all daily data input requirements are being completed by staff. Assist customers with issues, problems, concerns and resolutions. Direct and communicate to Employment Services Manager areas for review, additional management or utilization for training purposes. Direct partner questions and issues to the Employment Services Manager. Employer Services (Business Focus) Coordinate the day-to-day operations for the Employer Services unit. Maintain and develop new relationships with employers, including meeting employers and traveling throughout both Stark and Tuscarawas County. Assign and manage employer requests via the Prime system to ensure appropriate caseload levels are maintained for staff. Lead job matching activities and services to ensure communication is consistent within the organization. Assist the manager with the planning and developing of additional employer services. Update and maintain contact lists for community partners. Developing and updating reports on team performance. Serve as the Primary contact for business inquiries, explaining services provided and directing customers to the Prime portal. Requirements EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred; or three to five years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Minimum of two years supervisory experience preferred. Excellent communication and team-building skills and the ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form. Ability to maintain confidentiality with job seekers, employers, and partner agency staff. Ability to exercise independent judgment and effectively collaborate with all levels of the organization and its customers. Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, assign work, effectively manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines. Strong computer skills needed in Microsoft applications as well as the ability to navigate electronic software systems and web applications. Maintain a work schedule to best assist the staff including work hours at both offices. Ability to travel for training or conferences, as needed. Valid Ohio driver’s license.
Responsibilities
The Employment Services Coordinator oversees and coordinates the daily workflow and activities for Employment Services and Employer Services units. This includes managing staff, ensuring quality service delivery, and maintaining employer relationships.
