Description The Employment Services Job Developer provides direct care to assist persons served in reaching their employment goals. The Employment Services Job Developer also supports their peers offering guidance and modeling leadership. This is a full time position and considered nonexempt under FLSA. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the primary job responsibilities. The Employment Services Job Developer reports to the HCBS Manager. Requirements Maintain positive relationships with outside agencies, businesses, contracted vendors, county representatives, case managers, school personnel, and other agency representatives. Identifies and develops a strategic service plan that serves both the employers’ hire and placement needs. Schedules/Coordinates the delivery of services such as job assessments, job shadows, interviews, and any other authorized services. Develops specific job opportunities that match the participants’ skills, work experience, related training and interests. Train for, develop organizational strategies for, develop processes for, and implement programs such as Ticket to Work, Life Academy, Vocational Rehabilitation, or other programs/services offered by OU. Process intake paperwork, create individual work plans, perform job coaching, attend webinars and marketing events for programs and services offered by OU Employment Services Department. Teach, co-teach and train staff through assigned training classes. Able and willing to complete quality assurance checks on all documentation prior to submission for billing. Be an active participant in the interdisciplinary team approach to meet all needs of individuals served including attending meeting such as IEPs, ICP, Residential Staffing, and IDT meetings. Provides supportive and directive encouragement to assist persons served in developing employment skills including but not limited to assisting in job search, community placement, developing/writing/implementing program plans, quality of work, appropriate work interactions, attendance, hygiene, and completing online trainings. Provide job coaching and job development with persons served. This includes but not limited to maintaining contact with persons served and their employer, developing jobs, conducting worksite assessments, and job shadowing. Attend required and assigned staff meetings and trainings. Maintain and promote positive relationships with coworkers, persons served, families, vendors, and volunteers. Advise appropriate supervisor/manager/director of any issues to ensure efficient operations and excellent service to all persons served. Perform and complete unplanned duties/activities or other assignments as assigned by management.
