Description FUNCTION: Assist residents with employment and other community based needs JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Conduct Employability Skills Class Monitor Job Club employment seeking activities Collaborate with Case Managers to promote resident employment success Assist referred residents with special needs Develop community resource referral list Manage and facilitate cognitive programming classes Coordinate facilitation of CBT classes Additional duties assigned by Supervisor PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to express oneself and exchange information both verbally and in writing. The employee is required to work independently so must be able to respond appropriately to deadlines. The employee is frequently required to move about the building. This employee is also required to operate a computer and other office machinery. Although infrequent, the employee is required to assist other program staff in responding to escalating situations, and therefore must be able to move freely (including bending and twisting) and respond quickly and appropriately to stressful situations, including the ability to lift up to 20 lbs. Although infrequent, the employee is required to assist other program staff in conducting client searches and must have the ability to touch and feel for contraband. Although infrequent, the employee is required to assist other program staff in transporting clients. Report To: Program Manager Accountable To: VP Residential Services, President/CEO and KPEP Board of Directors Requirements REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor of Science in human services or related field; MCBAP credential or MCBAP PDP within 1 month of hire/promotion. Two (2) years experience in corrections or other human services related field Excellent verbal and written communications skills, organizational and computer skills Ability to read, write, understand English; (Bilingual Spanish/French/Other preferred) Ability to manage multiple projects Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with accurate results Demonstrated experience to successfully work independently, organize own work, and coordinate the work of others
Responsibilities
The coordinator assists residents with employment and other community-based needs by conducting employability skills classes and monitoring job club activities. Responsibilities also include collaborating with case managers, developing resource lists, and facilitating cognitive programming classes like CBT.
