EDUCATION:

Completed post-secondary education in relevant field from a recognized Canadian Institute, or its equivalent.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum two years’ experience in Human Services Field or other related field
  • Experience with effective job/career search strategies
  • Experience using career planning and decision-making tools
  • Experience in writing, critiquing, and editing résumés and cover letter

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Able to work with people with disabilities and barriers to employment
  • Proficiency in a multi-task and multi-need environment
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills
  • Intermediate user of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • French language is a requirement

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Strong knowledge of careers and occupations, various job requirements, job search skills
  • Knowledge of community and government resources available to clients
  • Knowledge of the local and provincial labour markets
  • Basic understanding of computer networks, hardware, and office equipment
Responsibilities

ROLE SUMMARY:

The Employment Specialist provides materials and shares knowledge of Agilec services, community services, and labour market information to both clients, employers, and the community.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate with team members to ensure seamless service delivery and effective client support.
  • Manage incoming & outgoing phone calls including client communications.
  • Maintain accurate client records, including interactions (case notes), schedule meetings, and document services in accordance with program requirements.
  • Complete the Common Assessment – In person/Phone/Virtual and schedule appointment with Employment Consultants
  • Develop and implement the Employment Action Plan (EAP), and schedule follow-up appointments for candidates with Employment Consultants
  • Conduct client engagement calls, serving as the initial point of contact for clients, ensuring all inquiries and concerns are promptly addressed.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, offering ongoing support throughout their employment journey as needed, while also collecting their pay stubs as proof of employment.
  • Develop & maintain a client contact tracking system.
  • Other duties as assigned
    Schedule: Hours are flexible within location-specific hours of operation. Extended hours may be required.
