JOB SUMMARY:
Provide employment consulting services (case management) for eligible clients according to relevant legislation (e.g., Income Assistance, Employment Insurance) and the WorkBC Case Management model; provide one to one support for clients interested in employment or training; assists clients in their efforts to receive appropriate referrals, training or instruction. To assist clients to develop and follow through on action plans to achieve labour market attachment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Minimum Grade 12 plus post-secondary education in employment and career development, and two years recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience; Career Development Practitioner Certification
· Current knowledge of Work BC Employment Services model and policies
· Knowledge of employment Insurance Act and BC employment Assistance
· Experience and knowledge of working with an integrated case management approach
· Ability and experience working with people who have multiple barriers to employment
· Demonstrated ability and commitment to working effectively with diverse populations
· Sound understanding of the labour market and current trends
· Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
· Ability to work co-operatively in a team environment
· Working knowledge of Windows operating system, MS Word and Internet and Integrated Case Management system (ICM)
· Experience in Motivational Interviewing and Job Coaching
· Successful Criminal Record Check
HOURS OF WORK: 35 hours per week (7 hours/day) based on a flex time schedule to meet client and program needs as determined by the Program Manager.
