Status: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours of Work: 36 Hours per week
Salary: $30.00 to $31.00 per hour
Location: The primary work location for this position will be in-person, in Calgary downtown/Beltline.

The Employment Specialist is responsible for supporting clients throughout their entire employment journey, from initial intake to long-term job retention. This position involves delivering and coordinating a full range of career development services, including career assessments, skills training, job search support, disability-related accommodations, and post-employment follow-up.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong expertise in career development, the ability to build trusting and motivating relationships with clients, and a solid understanding of local community resources and support networks.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma in Social Sciences or a relevant discipline
  • Recent, related experience of three (3) years, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a helping profession supporting individuals with disabilities and complex barriers

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training (can be acquired after hire)
  • Mental Health First Aid Training (can be acquired after hire)
  • Motivational Interviewing Training and Certification considered an asset
  • Trauma-Informed Practice Training and Certification are considered an asset
  • CCDP Certification is considered an asset
  • May require a valid Alberta driver’s license and use of a personal motor vehicle during working hours
  • Must maintain a satisfactory criminal record, including a vulnerable sector check
