Job Details Job Location: Menasha, WI Salary Range: Undisclosed Description Position Purpose: The purpose of an Emergency Medical Technician-Cadet at Gold Cross Ambulance is to learn essential functions of an EMT. Duties and Responsibilities: 1) Classroom training and education as laid out in program to complete the below essential functions of the EMT 2) Respond to ambulance calls (emergency & non-emergency) to provide efficient and immediate care to all patients. 3) Transport any patients that require continued care to an appropriate medical facility. 4) Transport patients from one medical facility to another per direct order. 5) When dispatched, drives ambulance to location given, using the most expeditious route. 6) Observes traffic ordinances & regulations pertaining to emergency vehicle operation. 7) Determines the nature & extent of illness or injury & establishes priority for required emergency medical care, rendering care to the level of the employees training. 8) Advises dispatch if & when additional help or special rescue services, and/or utility services are needed. 9) Assists in lifting the stretcher & placing in ambulance while seeing that the patient and stretcher are secured, while continuing patient care as necessary. 10) Constantly monitors patient condition while enroute destination. 11) Maintain communication with medical control at the receiving facility, while following the physician's orders. 12) Provided patient care within the confines of the patient care protocol and EMT scope of practice 13) Properly assists in transferring patients out of the ambulance & into receiving facility. 14) Reports verbally & in writing his/her observations, while caring for the patient at the scene & in transit, to the medical staff receiving the patient. 15) After each ambulance run, replaces all supplies used, makes careful check of all equipment so that ambulance is ready for the next run. 16) After each ambulance run, completes patient care report. 17) Ensures that assigned ambulance is clean (interior & exterior), kept neat & in an orderly condition. 18) Maintains familiarity with specialized equipment utilized by Gold Cross Ambulance Service, Inc. 19) Ambulance attendants & drivers should be equally trained regarding each other's duties and responsibilities, so that they may function independently or interchangeably in caring for multiple casualties. Qualifications:  Successful completion of Gold Cross Ambulance's physical proficiency standards.  Must have a valid driver's license with no more than two (2) moving violations, or no more than one (1) moving violation & one (1) chargeable accident in a three (3) year period.  Demonstrates strong moral character: Honesty, Peer Respect and Trust Direct conflict resolution Supervision: This position reports directly to EMT- Cadet Lead Instructor Qualifications
