Description
The UPMC Center for Emergency Medicine is looking to hire a Casual EMT Instructor. Purpose: This instructor position will assist Coordinator of EMS Education in the planning and execution of all EMT Training Programs. They will be responsible for direct classroom instruction of students enrolled in EMT Programs. Responsibilities: Monitor the students' progress and provide reasonable supplemental instruction and/or individual tutoring if students are having difficulty with the course content. Inform the Coordinator of EMS Education when individual students are failing to make satisfactory academic progress. Provide students with constructive feedback, direction, and counseling. Preview all examinations prior to administration. Grade all quizzes, examinations, and student assignments in a timely manner. Conduct your class in accordance with all Center, State, Federal and AMA training standards. Develop and administer regular quizzes and homework assignments. Cover all of the material assigned by the Coordinator of EMS Education in accordance with the Department of Health and DOT Guidelines. Serve as a role model for professional attitudes and behavior. Administer standardized examinations as scheduled. If you are unable to cover all of the material, inform the Coordinator of EMS Education as early as possible to assure that other arrangements can be made. Maintain student and class records in a standardized manner. Begin and end all classes on time. Under no circumstances should classes be rescheduled without the approval of the Coordinator of EMS Education. * High school diploma or equivalent.* AHA CPR Instructor Certification* PA Department of Health EMT or Paramedic Certification* Knowledge and experience in the use of personal computers. Strong knowledge of word processing, database management and spreadsheets required.* Demonstration of excellent oral and written communication skills.* Demonstration of excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. * Demonstration of a professional manner and appearance.* Ability to operate standard office equipment.
