  • $ 75,817 to $ 102,412 per annum (Level A)
  • Plus 17% employer superannuation

UNE is seeking a highly motivated and suitably qualified teacher with relevant teaching experience, or extensive experience in student learning support and specialist expertise. The successful applicant will have effective time management, communication and stakeholder engagement skills. The ability to work flexibility in a team environment and an ability to liaise effectively with external stakeholders, such as schools, community groups and businesses is essential.

Education Enterprise (within Education Futures) currently has an exciting opportunity for an experienced educator to help students prepare for their university study. Education Enterprise delivers university-wide projects aimed at fostering collaboration, ensuring educational quality, and to drive innovation and achieve excellence in the ever-evolving landscape of education.

Responsibilities

As the Enabling Academic Advisor in this Teaching Focused role, you will contribute to the innovation of learning, teaching and assessment, around academic preparation for university studies. You will deliver Enabling Pathways Education at the UNE Tamworth campus and surrounding areas within the context of the Future Fit strategic plan. UNE’s Enabling Pathways program is designed to prepare prospective students for university study through a scaffolded series of units. You will also provide general academic skills support for all UNE students in Tamworth.
You are expected to make significant contributions to teaching within the Enabling Pathways Course and support students’ general academic skills. The Enabling Academic Advisor provides specialist academic skills education to assist student preparation in the development of academic language and numeracy skills. You will be showing appropriate levels of expertise in the scholarship and practice of learning and teaching, educational design and delivery. You will design and deliver core study skills workshops to student groups, as well as individualised support for UNE students. You will demonstrate an understanding and sensitivity to the early experiences of students by prioritising high-quality support and accessibility for UNE’s diverse student body, including First Nations students.
The Enabling Academic Advisor will collaborate with the Course Coordinator of UNE’s Pathways Enabling Program and stakeholders in the Tamworth community to deliver learning sessions to complement course materials, lectures and tutorials. You will also assist in the development and implementation of the tertiary preparation programs in the Armidale/New England/North-west/Tamworth region, including secondary schools and community groups.
