Role Description Residential Support Workers at Oak Haven Support Services LTD provide direct, person-centered support to children in Southampton.


This full-time role involves a tramua imformed approach to children with daily living activities such as personal care, meals, and medication prompts, while encouraging independence and participation in community and in-house activities.


The role includes monitoring childrens wellbeing, maintaining accurate records and care plans, and supporting safeguarding practices to ensure a safe environment.

Residential Support Workers collaborate with colleagues, health and social care professionals, and families, contribute to household duties, and participate in team meetings and training to uphold high standards of care.

Qualifications


  • Experience in support worker roles or similar care positions, with a commitment to person-centered support.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and communication abilities to build trust and rapport with residents and colleagues.
  • Understanding of safeguarding principles and safe working practices in residential care settings.
  • Basic technical support skills for using care management systems, digital records, and communication tools.
  • Ability to work shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required in a residential environment.
  • Relevant care or support qualifications (e.g., NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care) or willingness to work toward them.
  • Knowledge of UK care standards and regulations, and the ability to follow policies and procedures.
  • Right to work in the UK; prior experience in adult social care or residential services is an advantage.
