Description

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with minimal supervision to meet defined
program objectives and milestones in an environment where they will be given the freedom to
innovate, explore new methods and solutions. Magna New Mobility offers an agile engineering
and development community; one in which a candidate will be expected to bring a high level of
energy and enthusiasm.
Key Responsibilities
? Work cross functionally with a team of engineers to develop Magna New Mobility
solutions.
? Work directly on test platforms installing components and updating robots and vehicles.
? Support in building and integrating components into larger systems, including
electromechanical installation, making custom wire harnesses, and soldering.
? Read from schematics, wiring diagrams, or cable pin outs to diagnose and repair any
issues found with electrical components.
? Instrument systems with test equipment and support in measurements.
? Self-motived individual who can adapt in a fast-paced work environment.
? Follows safe work procedures; Uses workplace tools and equipment as instructed;
Reports workplace hazards, injuries as soon as possible following event.
? System Integration and Commissioning
o Integrate automation solutions with factory hardware, such as PLCs, sensors,
and robotic systems. This includes configuring communication protocols and
ensuring seamless operation across systems.
o Assist in upgrading or modifying existing automation systems.
? Testing, Debugging, and Validation
o Testing is conducted to validate system performance, identify bugs, and ensure
reliability before deployment. This is especially critical in safety-sensitive
environments like AMR (Autonomous Mobile Robot) systems.
o Run test on automated systems to verify proper operation after installation or
repair.
o Test robot performance and calibrate sensors and actuators to ensure precision
and repeatability.
? Maintenance and Troubleshooting
o Automation technicians oversee preventive maintenance and are the first line of
response for diagnosing and resolving system malfunctions. This includes both
hardware and software issues
? Troubleshooting and Diagnostics
o In a production environment like AMR upfitting, candidates must be ready to
respond quickly to urgent issues that could halt production.
o Identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, or software issues using diagnostic
tools and AMR software
? Technical Support
o Provide on-site or remote support to operators during launch and/or production
downtime.
o Train operators and plant technicians on basic troubleshooting.
Key Qualifications/Requirements
Associate of Science degree or equivalent
2+ years in robotics, automotive, aerospace, or similar industry.
Familiarity working with robotics systems and components
Strong understanding of low-voltage DC (bonus for HV) and 110VAC electrical systems!
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $29.00 - $31.00 per hour
