Description:

OVERVIEW:

Our client, a leading FTSE 250 Financial Services organisation who operate heavily within the commodities sector, are looking for an EUC Lead to join their London team with remote working.
You will be responsible for the coordination of the Global EUC Team, working alongside the IT Operations Leadership team, managing the Global end user computer estate.

KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Leadership: Experience leading multi-regional Desktop Engineering in Enterprise scale environments
Operating System knowledge: Expertise in Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems, including deployment, configuration, and management.
Virtualization: Experience working with virtualization technologies such as VMware, Citrix & Hyper-V
Cloud Services: Proficiency in cloud-based desktop solutions, including Microsoft Azure,AWS WorkSpaces, and Google Cloud.
Scripting and Automation: Strong skills in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash) for automation of desktop management tasks.
Device Configuration and Deployment: Strong knowledge of Windows Autopilot technologies
Endpoint and Configuration Management Tools: Expertise in Microsoft Intune, SCCM and
JAMF for Mac
Desktop Telemetry: Experience of working with End User Experience Monitoring software such as Uber, with knowledge of integration to SIEM tools such as Splunk
Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Proficiency in monitoring tools and techniques to ensure optimal performance and availability of the desktop platform.
Networking: Understanding of networking principles, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
Security: In-depth knowledge of security best practices, including endpoint protection, encryption, and vulnerability management.
Software Deployment: Experience with software deployment tools and methodologies, ensuring efficient and reliable application delivery. Strong knowledge and experience of software deployment through Microsoft Intune.
Hardware: Familiarity with desktop hardware components and peripheral devices, ensuring compatibility and performance.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the overall strategy for the desktop platform, aligning with the company’s goals and objectives.
Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Platform Development: In partnership with our IT Architecture and Infrastructure functions, oversee the design, development, and deployment of desktop solutions, ensuring they meet user needs and industry standards.
Build Imaging and Deployment Desktop Applications: Application lifecycle management
Defining Standards: Work with our Architecture and IT teams to identify customer requirements and define appropriate standards for desktop hardware and peripherals
Security and Compliance: Work with our Security team to ensure the desktop platform adheres to security best practices and compliance requirements, mitigating risks and vulnerabilities.
Patching and Upgrades: Ensure our estate is maintained. Plan, test and manage deployment of OS upgrades. Manage the deployment of BIOS and Firmware updates across the device fleet
Performance and Telemetry: Continuously monitor and optimize the performance of the desktop platform, identifying trends and taking action proactively. Management and deployment of End User Experience Monitoring tooling with development of metric dashboards
Innovation: Drive innovation by exploring new technologies and methodologies to enhance the desktop platform.
Vendor Management: Oversee relationships with external vendors and service providers for Desktop Platforms, ensuring quality and value in their contributions.
