Description The Assistant Nurse Manager (Clinical Supervisor RN) is responsible for overseeing the daily clinical operations of two endoscopy centers. This role ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care by providing clinical leadership, supervising nursing staff, supporting workflow efficiency, and promoting professional development. The Assistant Nurse Manager upholds clinical standards, enforces policies and procedures, and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements within the RN scope of practice. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Staff Management · Assign and delegate tasks based on staff competency and patient needs. · Monitor performance, provide feedback, and address performance or behavior concerns. · Conduct staff evaluations and provide coaching to enhance clinical skillsets. · Coordinate and deliver ongoing education, training, and competency assessments. · Participate in interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new clinical staff. Clinical Oversight · Review patient charts and care plans to ensure accuracy and quality of care. · Monitor patient status, identify complications, and initiate appropriate interventions. · Investigate safety concerns and follow incident-reporting procedures, including follow-up. · Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care. · Ensure compliance with clinical standards, accreditation requirements, and policies. · Maintain adequate supplies and ensure proper equipment functionality on the unit. Quality Improvement · Identify opportunities to enhance patient safety, care outcomes, and efficiency. · Review and analyze clinical data to identify trends or areas for improvement. · Participate in root-cause analyses and implement corrective or preventive actions. · Support ongoing quality and safety initiatives across both centers. Education & Training · Provide in-service education on new procedures, protocols, and best practices. · Support staff development, continuing education, and competency programs. · Serve as a clinical resource and role model for nursing staff. Leadership & Communication · Lead and motivate the clinical care team to achieve operational and quality goals. · Facilitate effective communication among team members, physicians, patients, and families. · Address and resolve patient or family concerns in a timely, professional manner. · Provide leadership during emergencies, guiding team actions and coordinating care. Administrative Responsibilities · Create and manage staff schedules, ensuring adequate daily coverage; may fill in when needed. · Maintain employee files, competencies, and required documentation. · Assist with monitoring safety, infection control, and quality-related measures. · Support budget oversight, resource allocation, and inventory management. · Participate in performance improvement initiatives and required reporting. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university. One to three years of related experience and/or training. Retains all accreditations, licenses, and professional designations in good standing. Maintains compliance with all laws and applicable regulatory requirements and responds promptly to required changes. Specialized Knowledge, Certificates, and Licensure Current, unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina or a compact state. BLS certification required. ACLS certification required within six (6) months of hire. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Strong attention to detail. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
