Job Summary
This post is for a gastroenterologist in the middle or toward the end of their specialist training who wishes to develop a specialist interest in endoscopy and research.
The successful applicant would undertake the design and running of several research projects relating to endoscopy, under the supervision of the endoscopy consultants.
Attendance at all academic sessions within the hospital will be expected. There are educational meetings and Grand Rounds that the post-holder would be expected to attend.

The Department of Digestive Diseases consists of leading Surgeons drawn from tertiary centres across London. This post will be supervised by Dr. Rehan Haidry.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications and Training

• MBBS or equivalent
• Fully registered with the GMC and current license to practice
• Current UK visa or permission to work
• MRCS or equivalent
• Intercalated BSc, BA, BMedSci or equivalent (desirable)
• Higher degrees including MSc, PhD or MD (where research thesis not part of first medical degree) (desirable)

Experience

• Candidate has completed at least four years’ full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part time or flexible basis) at least 18months of which must have been within endoscopy
• Demonstrates ability to perform surgical procedures.
• Competent to work without direct supervision where appropriate.
• Appropriate clinical and technical skills and abilities.
• Knowledge of Clinical Governance
• Previous involvement in Audit/research project(s)
• Presentations/ publications (desirable)
