Overview:
The Surgical/Endo technician in the Institute for Digestive Health and Liver Disease is a member of the peri-operative team and participates in the delivery of quality patient care to patients having endoscopic gastrointestinal procedures. Under the supervision of the registered nurse and/or the gastroenterologist, the Endo tech performs selected, delegated patient care procedures. Care provided includes procedure set-up, assistance, scope processing and other unit needs under the supervision of the charge RN and Lead Procedure Tech.

LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:

9/22/2020-CNA required or CRCST OR NCCT within 12 months of hire.
• Certification Requirements: CPR • Age Specific Care Provided For: Adolescents Adults Geriatrics • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize one or more of the following: ••• Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel ••• Microsoft Outlook ••• Meditech (if applicable to position) ••• Epic (if applicable to position) ••• Performance Manager/NetLearning Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner. Must be able to work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public.
