WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a dynamic, committed Energy Analyst, who thrives on achieving clear outcomes on important research projects. Key responsibilities are data analytics, and stakeholder information within the energy sector, creating succinct, timely outputs based on key insights for a range of audiences, and supporting the fulfilment of the EI’s strategic aims, in particular informing energy decision making through convening expertise and advice.
WHO WE ARE
The EI is the chartered professional membership body for people who work across the world of energy. Our purpose is creating a better energy future for our members and society by accelerating a just global energy transition to net zero. We do this by attracting, developing and equipping the diverse future energy workforce; informing energy decision-making through convening expertise and advice; and enabling industry and consumers to make energy lower carbon, safer and more efficient
At the EI we endeavour to find talent that will live and breathe our values. Our employees, and our extensive network of volunteers, pursue their work in line with a set of values reflecting the culture of the organisation: we are inclusive by treating each other with care and respect; we build trust through open and professional collaboration; and we are passionate about making a difference.
A registered charity, incorporated by Royal Charter in 2003 but with a heritage dating back more than a century, the EI is licensed to offer professional registration as Chartered Energy Engineer, Chartered Environmentalist and, uniquely, Chartered Energy Manager status. It is also home to a range of collaborative initiatives, including the G+ Global Offshore Wind Health and Safety Organisation, SafetyOn and POWERful Women. We host the annual International Energy Week, International Energy Awards, publish the annual Statistical Review of World Energy, the Energy Barometer, weekly New Energy World Magazine, and provide the Toolbox web app helping the energy workforce learn lessons from incidents and get home safe.
What you will doThe role will provide the opportunity to contribute to some of our most important projects and collaborations:
You will be expected to meet individual key performance indicators and maintain standards and objectives for the team in line with EI values. This includes producing timely outputs, participating in appraisals and team meetings, and identifying and meeting your self-development needs. You will also occasionally undertake other duties as delegated by the Head of Knowledge, Insight, and Research.
THE KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS YOU NEED:
As Energy Analyst, you will work with information and people across all parts of the energy system, in the UK and around the world. Your focus will be the development, provision and maintenance of high-quality energy information and insights for EI members and wider stakeholders.
You should be able to process and interpret data, identify key trends, and produce content such as reports, briefing papers, and content for infographics to communicate complex issues in clear and intuitive ways. You will also work with the team to maintain, update, and expand its knowledge resources through gap analyses, identification of key information sources, influencers, and thought leaders.
