POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Powerhouse Group team has been part of the wider CoolPlanet Group’s mechanical, electrical and software engineering design and development teams since 2021. The PHG team has over 60 years of combined ESB Group, EirGrid and NIE Networks Distribution System Operator and Transmission System Operator experience in its leadership team and many more years of industry experience across the whole team.

THE KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE ENERGY ANALYST:

• Daily System and dispatch likelihood Checks
• Validation of market Settlement Documents and budget file
• Review Market Settlement Statements, reports and Invoices on a weekly basis to ensure PHG have received accurate Revenue from the SEM Balancing Market and CRM.
• Report any anomalies to the SEMO (Eirgrid/SONI) for official review rectification
• Compile reports for the finance department
• Calculate Diesel, site Incentive payments and Revenue from dispatch events and share summary report for review
• Attend SEMO participant Calls and Market User Operator Group calls.
• Takes notes of the call and distribute them to all team members highlighting any issues relevant to grid services(SEMO PX, SEMO & Settlement).
• Analyse weekly SEMO availability forecast of units and input into the SEMO MPI system.
• Analyse weekly SEMO Incs, Decs and Shutdown costs and input into SEMO MPI system.
• Support regular weekly meetings with the SCADA team to agree on priorities, site visits and resolve technical issues
• Calculate revenue Invoices for capacity payments, DS3 and Dispatches using monthly SCADA reports
• Support capacity Auctions with:
• Support the maintenance of the 4-year unit strategy plan
• The completion of Qualification Submission documentation, support responses to market queries
• Support Auction Bidding discussions and submit auction bids within the CMP platform
• Support the tracking of Bonds due and substantial operational and financial completion
• Support DS3 tenders:
• Support the compilation of all reports
• Maintain the unit overview and summary reports for senior management
• Submit reports to SONI & EIRGRID for approval
• Analyse and complete the Eirgrid Report for frequency events
• Respond to dispatch events according to team Rota
• Support the onboarding of new units and new sites:
• Complete DSU and DS3 Testing Applications, Procedures and Reports and request Updated Operational Certificates from Eirgrid or SONI once testing is complete and approved.
• Compile and submit new unit applications including liaising with Eirgrid/SONI and SEMO to ensure applications are processed and approved and Operational Certificates issued.
• Ensure long and short-term signal requirements of the RTU are met and Liaise with Eirgrid/SONI to provide all data and Signal wiring requirements.
• Complete Client revenue Proposals for senior management
• Utilise and improve on the revenue models (DSU / DS3 / Energy)
• Analyse sites MRSO data and liaise with clients to identify revenue opportunities
