(DAS) and help state government lead by example in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, conserving resources, and building a more sustainable Oregon.
What You’ll Do

As the Energy and Sustainability Program Coordinator, you’ll be the go-to expert for advancing energy efficiency, sustainability, and resource conservation across the DAS real estate portfolio. You’ll work across programs, projects, and agencies to:

  • Analyze energy, water, waste, and greenhouse gas (GHG) data to identify opportunities and drive action.
  • Support and implement sustainability initiatives in DAS buildings and operations.
  • Collaborate with the Oregon Department of Energy, Energy Trust of Oregon, and other parties.
  • Conduct energy audits, recommend efficiency technologies, and oversee implementation.
  • Provide training, technical support, and best practices to agency staff and partners.
  • Research emerging technologies and sustainability trends to keep DAS at the forefront.
  • Represent DAS in statewide networks and support other agencies’ sustainability efforts.

What We Are Looking For
Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, Finance, Political Science, or any degree demonstrating the capacity for the knowledge and skills (e.g., Sustainability, Environmental Science); and four years of professional-level evaluative, analytical, and planning work related to energy efficiency, sustainability, or resource conservation.
OR
Any combination of experience and education equivalent to seven years of professional-level work in energy efficiency, sustainability, or resource conservation.

Desired Attributes:

  • Experience applying sustainability practices, including energy and water efficiency, waste reduction, and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions management in operational or facility settings.
  • Proven ability to collect, analyze, and interpret utility and sustainability data, and apply findings to inform decisions, create plans, or recommend policy or operational improvements.
  • Experience managing or coordinating energy or sustainability-related projects, from planning through implementation and evaluation.
  • Working knowledge of relevant laws, executive orders, and policies related to energy and sustainability, and ability to apply them in program or facility operations.
  • Experience communicating complex topics in writing and verbally, including developing and delivering technical guidance, reports, or staff training.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across teams and with external partners to advance shared goals.
  • Current holder or willingness to obtain one or more of the following certifications in the first year:
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM);
  • Building Operator Certification (BOC);
  • Energy Management Professional (EMP);
  • Building Commissioning Professional;
  • LEED-accredited Professional; or
  • Equivalent accreditations.
