JOB SUMMARY

ecoPreserve seeks an experienced Energy Auditor to support energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives across warehousing and data center operations. This remote role will focus on ongoing operational energy assessments, including IT load analysis, identifying efficiency improvements, and recommending solutions to optimize performance, reduce emissions, improve power usage effectiveness, and future-proof building systems.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Energy Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in energy auditing, building performance analysis, or energy engineering of datacenters and warehouses.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems for large facilities.
  • Proficiency with energy modeling tools and strong data analysis skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for technical and executive audiences.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple projects remotely.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% for site visits and client meetings.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Optional certifications: CEM, CEA, CMVP.
  • Experience with decarbonization strategies and renewable integration.
  • Familiarity with utility incentive programs or strategic energy management.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct ASHRAE energy audits of warehouses and data centers, evaluating HVAC, cooling, lighting, power distribution and control systems.
  • Assess IT equipment utilization and server consolidation opportunities to reduce unnecessary load.
  • Analyze utility bills, sub-meter data, and building management system data to identify inefficiencies.
  • Identify and quantify energy conservation measures (ECMs), estimate savings, and develop ROI analyses.
  • Use leading energy analysis tools (e.g., EnergyPlus, eQUEST, RETScreen) to model building performance and validate recommendations.
  • Prepare detailed audit reports and present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Lead client meetings, explain technical concepts clearly, and provide ongoing consultative support.
  • Collaborate with client teams to prioritize and implement energy-saving measures.
  • Support measurement and verification, commissioning, and retro-commissioning efforts.
  • Monitor post-implementation performance to ensure targets are met.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, technologies, and best practices in sustainable operations and data center efficiency technologies.
