Description

TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT ASSIGNMENT MAY BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION

The California Energy Commission seeks to fill one Energy Commission Specialist II position, serving as the Clean Transportation Specialist, in the CMO Unit.
The Fuels and Transportation Division administers the California Energy Commission’s Clean Transportation Program (CTP). The CTP is California’s lead program in deploying zero-emission vehicle infrastructure to support electric vehicles and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. The CTP budget has increased in recent years. The program will deploy approximately $4 billion to invest in a broad portfolio of transportation projects and provide financial support for infrastructure projects. These projects will transform California’s fuel and vehicle types to meet the state’s climate change and public health policies.
Under the general direction of a Program and Project Supervisor, the Clean Transportation Specialist independently performs more complex, sensitive, and responsible energy-related work which requires, on a regular basis, a high level of knowledge, skill and ability which is demonstrably above the journey level.
Minimum Qualifications (MQs): The MQs for this classification can be found at Energy Commission Specialist/Supervisor (Technology Evaluation & Development) Series-CahHR. The documents you submit in your application package must highlight how you meet the MQs. If the MQs are not met, you will not be considered for this position.
Hybrid and Telework Employees: Teleworking is only available for employees who reside in California. You must be relocated to California and provide your in-state address prior to your start date.
Please let us know how you heard about this position by taking a brief survey at CEC Recruitment Survey.
You will find additional information about the job in the Duty Statement.

Beginning July 1, 2025, all employees may be required to work in-person at least four days per week in alignment with Executive Order N-22-25. Occasional travel may be required based on the needs of the division. Regular and consistent attendance is essential to successful performance.
Teleworking is only available for employees who reside in California. You must be relocated to California and provide your in-state address prior to your start date.
New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.
