ENERGY DEMAND AND FORECASTING SPECIALIST – 12-MONTH FTC

Location: Commutable distance to Daventry at least twice a week
The Energy Demand and Forecasting Specialist is responsible for analysing and forecasting energy consumption patterns across the Arqiva Estate comprising of ~2,500 supply points using ~185 GWh of annualised power. The role includes managing historical and future trend analysis, planning for future energy requirements, and ensuring the optimum usage of cost and recharge modelling across the estate. The position requires working closely with Operational delivery teams, finance, and external suppliers to align energy strategies with future business needs and sustainability goals.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor, track, and analyse energy consumption across all of the Arqiva estate.
  • Use historical data, business growth and customer efficiency projections, and seasonal trends to forecast energy demand up to 10 years in advance.
  • Manage cost and revenue modelling for Long Term Plan, budgeting, forecasting and Customer true ups. Cost modelling to include commodity and non-commodity costs.
  • Collect and assess real-time energy data to identify trends and inefficiencies and drive continuous improvement to the delivery of quality data sets.
  • Produce regular reports and updates on energy usage, cost projections, and market conditions for internal stakeholders.
  • Provide recommendations to mitigate future energy cost increases.
  • Develop robust detailed tenant/landlord consumption reports and share insights with stakeholders to guide decision-making.
  • Attend internal and external meetings to be an ambassador for Arqiva in collaboration and delivery of energy saving initiatives/opportunities to reduce overall energy consumption on the Arqiva estate.
  • Collaborate with technical and operational teams to understand shifts in energy demand due to changes in technology or operational expansion.
  • Build internal and external relationships with delivery teams to forecast capacity planning for the delivery of power connections/disconnections within the timely rollout of programmes.
  • Assist Sustainability team in the development of opportunities to reduce overall energy consumption.
  • Research and promote alternative energy sources, including renewables and energy-efficient technologies.
  • Can be relied upon to consistently engage stakeholders, utilising the available resources and proactively seeking out appropriate new opportunities, driving a business case to implement those opportunities.Keep up to date with market trends, policy changes and regulatory developments in the energy sector.
